# Fees

A 1% trading fee split 0.3% platform and 0.7% creator, one optional creator tax, and every rate readable on-chain.

**Numbers, not adjectives.** Here's everything you can pay in the arcade.

| Fee                | Amount                                                | Who pays                                       | Where it goes                    |
| ------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------- |
| **Launch fee** | 0.0005 ETH (Robinhood Chain) · 0.0015 BNB (BNB Chain) | The creator, once | Platform |
| **Trading fee** | **1%** of every trade | Traders, on the curve **and** after graduation | **0.3% platform, 0.7% creator** |
| **Creator tax**    | 0–10%, set at launch, most coins use 0                | Traders                                        | 100% to the coin's fee recipient |
| **Snipe tax** | Up to 99%, only in a coin's first 3 seconds | Early buyers, not exempt wallets | Joins the trading fee |
| **Uniswap LP fee** | **0%** | Nobody | The pool charges nothing extra |
| **Gas** | Network cost | Whoever sends the transaction | The network |

## The 1% trading fee

Every trade pays 1%, and the rate doesn't change when the coin graduates. Here's how it's split:

| Share | Of each trade | Goes to |
| ------------ | ------------: | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Platform** | **0.3%** | Platform revenue. It's bridged automatically and used to [buy back and burn the launchpad-supported token](/degen-games-docs/usdmanyu/buyback-and-burn.md). |
| **Creator**  |      **0.7%** | The coin's fee recipient, or the coin's holders if [holder rewards](/degen-games-docs/how-the-game-works/holder-rewards.md) are on.                         |

On-chain, the split is stored as a 30% platform share of the 1% fee (`protocolFeeShareBps = 3000`).

The split is snapshotted for each coin at launch and stays the same for the life of the coin, before and after graduation.

## The creator tax

A creator can add an optional tax of **0% to 10%** on top of the trading fee. All of it goes to the coin's fee recipient.

* It's **fixed at launch** and can never be raised.
* It applies before **and** after graduation.
* **Check it before you trade.** It's the one rate that varies between coins. A coin with no creator tax charges you 1% and nothing else.

## Worked examples

**A 1 ETH buy on a coin with no creator tax**

|                                    |    ETH |
| ---------------------------------- | -----: |
| You spend                          | 1.0000 |
| Trading fee (1%)                   | 0.0100 |
| → platform (0.3%), for the buyback | 0.0030 |
| → creator (0.7%)                   | 0.0070 |
| Reaches the curve                  | 0.9900 |

**The same buy on a coin with a 2% creator tax**

|                           |    ETH |
| ------------------------- | -----: |
| You spend                 | 1.0000 |
| Trading fee (1%)          | 0.0100 |
| Creator tax (2%)          | 0.0200 |
| Creator receives in total | 0.0270 |
| Reaches the curve         | 0.9700 |

## Which side gets charged

* **Buys:** fees come off what you spend, before the curve prices the trade.
* **Sells:** the curve prices your sale, then the fees come off what you receive.
* Fees are always taken **in the raise asset** (ETH, USDG or the stock), never in the coin. You're never handed a fee bill in the coin you're trying to sell.

## After graduation

The Uniswap v4 pool's own LP fee is **0%**. Instead, the Degen Games **hook** charges the 1% trading fee and any creator tax on each swap, and splits it exactly as the curve did. You don't pay a Uniswap fee on top.

Depending on the direction of a swap, some fees can land in the coin rather than the raise asset. Before payout, that part is sold back into the pool so creators are always paid in the raise asset. Those conversions are capped at **3% price impact**. If one can't be done at a fair price, it's left for later instead of forced through.

## Optional creator buybacks

The protocol also supports **creator buybacks**. It's off by default. When a coin has it on, a slice of the creator's share (currently **50%**) is spent buying the coin back from the market instead of being paid out.

* It comes out of the **creator's** share, never the platform's or yours.
* Bought-back tokens aren't dumped or paid out in a lump. They're locked in the **buyback vault** and released linearly over **5 years**, split between the creator and the protocol.
* If a buyback would move the price too much, it's skipped and that money goes to the creator as normal.

## Read it on-chain

Nothing here depends on trusting a web page:

| What                                                      | Where                                             |
| --------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| Trading fee on the curve | `feeBps()` on the coin's curve |
| Creator tax                                               | `creatorTaxBps()` on the coin's curve             |
| Platform share, buyback slice, pool fee, price-impact cap | `getLaunchFeePolicy(token)` on the launch factory |
| Launch fee | `launchFee()` on the launch factory |
| Maximum creator tax | `maxCreatorTaxBps()` on the launch factory |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://degen-games-2.gitbook.io/degen-games-docs/how-the-game-works/fees.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
