# FAQ

Quick answers for players, creators and builders.

## Playing

<details>

<summary>What is Degen Games?</summary>

A cross-chain token launchpad built like an arcade. Launch any token in 30 seconds, and it trades on a bonding curve until it graduates to a Uniswap pool with its liquidity burned. Platform revenue buys back and burns $MANYU. See [Welcome](/degen-games-docs/readme.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Which chains is it on?</summary>

Robinhood Chain and BNB Chain are live now. Ethereum and other EVM chains come next. See [Supported Chains](/degen-games-docs/multi-chain/supported-chains.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do I need an account?</summary>

No. Connect a wallet and play. Your wallet address is your player ID.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What does it cost to trade?</summary>

A 1% trading fee on every trade (0.3% to the platform, 0.7% to the coin's creator), plus the coin's creator tax if it has one (0–10%, shown before you trade), plus gas. Buys in a coin's first 3 seconds can also pay a snipe tax. See [Fees](/degen-games-docs/how-the-game-works/fees.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why did I get fewer tokens than expected on a brand-new coin?</summary>

Buys in the first 3 seconds after launch pay a snipe tax of up to 99%, which falls to 0% by the end of the window. Wait a few seconds and it's gone. See [Snipe Protection](/degen-games-docs/how-the-game-works/snipe-protection.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Why can't I sell a coin that just hit 100%?</summary>

A full curve holds exactly the reserves that seed the pool, so it stops taking sells. Selling reopens in the Uniswap pool, which normally goes live in the same transaction. If the coin shows **Awaiting graduation**, anyone can push it through from the coin page for the cost of gas.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can the liquidity be pulled after graduation?</summary>

No. The LP position is sent to the burn address `0x…dEaD`. Nobody can withdraw it, including the creator and Degen Games. See [Burned Liquidity](/degen-games-docs/how-the-game-works/burned-liquidity.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Who owns a coin's contract?</summary>

Nobody. Every coin burns its ownership to `0x…dEaD` in the deploy transaction. There's no ownership to renounce and no owner-only function anyone can call. See [Automatic Contract Verification](/degen-games-docs/how-the-game-works/contract-verification.md#no-owner-from-block-one).

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I know a coin is real and not a copycat?</summary>

Use the contract address. Search it on degen.vip, or check `getLaunchedToken(token)` on the launch factory. Names and tickers can be copied. See [Automatic Contract Verification](/degen-games-docs/how-the-game-works/contract-verification.md#is-it-a-real-degen-games-coin).

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do holder rewards work?</summary>

If a coin's creator turned them on, the coin's creator fees go to a vault that pays holders in proportion to their holdings. Epochs open at random moments. You claim on the coin's page from 1 hour after an epoch opens, for up to 90 days. See [Holder Rewards](/degen-games-docs/how-the-game-works/holder-rewards.md).

</details>

## Creating

<details>

<summary>How much does it cost to launch?</summary>

A 0.0005 ETH launch fee on Robinhood Chain, plus gas. A dev buy is optional. See [Insert Coin](/degen-games-docs/player-1-press-start/insert-coin.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do I get tokens for free as the creator?</summary>

No. There's no team allocation. The entire supply starts on the curve. If you want tokens, use the dev buy to buy in the launch transaction itself, ahead of everyone.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I earn as a creator?</summary>

You earn 0.7% of every trade of your coin (your share of the 1% trading fee), before and after graduation, plus 100% of any creator tax you set. Claim it from **My Profile**. See [Collect Creator Fees](/degen-games-docs/player-1-press-start/collect-creator-fees.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I change my coin's settings after launch?</summary>

Almost nothing. You can hand your fee stream to another wallet, and switch creator buybacks on or off. Everything else is locked. See [Creator Controls](/degen-games-docs/how-the-game-works/creator-controls.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I launch a coin that raises in something other than ETH?</summary>

Yes. On Robinhood Chain you can raise in USDG or any of 43 tokenized stocks, such as AAPL, NVDA, TSLA or SPY. See [Raise Assets](/degen-games-docs/how-the-game-works/raise-assets.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>My coin says "Awaiting graduation". What do I do?</summary>

The curve filled but the pool wasn't created in the same transaction, usually because it ran low on gas. Press the button on the coin's page to push it through. Anyone can do it, and it costs only gas.

</details>

## $MANYU

<details>

<summary>What is $MANYU's role?</summary>

$MANYU is the launchpad-supported token. The platform's 0.3% share of trades on every chain is bridged automatically, used to buy $MANYU, and burned. See [Buyback & Burn](/degen-games-docs/usdmanyu/buyback-and-burn.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Is there a separate Degen Games token?</summary>

No. The arcade's revenue buys back and burns $MANYU. Anything claiming to be an official "Degen Games token" isn't one, unless it's announced on [@DegenGamesVIP](https://x.com/DegenGamesVIP).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://degen-games-2.gitbook.io/degen-games-docs/resources/faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
